A GHMC contract sweeper died after she was hit by a police patrolling vehicle in Brahmanwadi of Rein Bazaar Thursday morning. The 55-year old victim was identified as Sayamma and she was sweeping the road when the patrolling vehicle which was allegedly driven rashly by a police head constable hit her.
She fell down and received grievous injuries and was then shifted to the hospital, where she died.
A case of causing death due to negligence was booked against the driver.
