Foundation Course for MES officers

Dr MCR HRD Institute launched the Foundation Course for Military Engineer Services (MES) Officers on Monday.

The Course has been sponsored by College of Military Engineering, Pune.

Dr. Shashank Goel, IAS, Director General, Dr. MCR HRD Institute & Spl. Chief Secretary to Govt. of Telangana, who was the Chief Guest, said that the role of MES Officers is multi-faceted and far reaching in supporting the nation’s defense capabilities.

Dr. Shashank Goel, IAS stated that in a rapidly evolving world, status quo has become a thing of the past and continuous change has become a reality, and in this scenario, it is crucial that the MES Officers stand ahead of the curve.

“You are now expected to be change agents, driving innovation, and adopting new technologies and managerial skills.

Your role in MES is not of merely a profession but that of a team leader that keeps the defense preparedness of our great nation at the highest level”, Dr Shashank Goel, IAS emphasized.

Dr Shashank Goel, IAS, said that the Foundation Course will provide the MES Officers with a robust understanding of policy-making, public administration, and the tools necessary for impactful service delivery.

“In addition to class room sessions, the Foundation Course brings in its wake a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The visits to Villages & Local Bodies, TREK, Sports Meet, FETE, and Cultural Programs will be greatly instrumental in developing the overall personality of the MES Officers”, he pointed out.

Col. J Satish Bharadwaja, Additional Chief Engineer, R &D, Secunderabad said that the Officers will be trained at Dr MCR HRD Institute in order to ensure that they become an essential component of the MES, contributing significantly to its operations, ensuring the safety and functionality of our Military infrastructure, and delivering world-class engineering solutions.

He added that whether it is constructing vital bridges, building military bases, maintaining communication systems or ensuring logistical support, the work the MES Officers do ensures that the country’s defense forces remain efficient, combat-ready, and capable of meeting any challenge.

Dr. Kandukuri Usha Rani, Course Director & Head, CDS welcomed the dignitaries and MES Officers and also shared the salient features of the Foundation Course.

Prof. Mohd. Abbas Ali, Academic Co-coordinator, proposed a vote of thanks. K. Chandra Jyothi, Addl. Course Director (Non-Academics) conducted proceeding of the inaugural function.
