The Election Commission has issued show cause notice to the Union Minister and BJP leader Babul Supriyo for violation of Model Code of Conduct. Giving this information in Kolkata this evening, the State Additional Chief Electoral officer Mr. Sanjoy Basu said that the Union Minister released a video recording of the party’s campaign song in electronic and social media without taking pre-approval from Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC). Mr. Supriyo has been asked to give his reply within 48 hours.
