CS stresses on micro-level planning

As per the directions of the  Chief Minister  K Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Secretary of Telangana State  Somesh Kumar, IAS held a meeting with the nine district collectors, SPs, Fire

Officers, Agricultural officers and forest officials which are likely to be affected by the locust menace at BRKR Bhavan today. He instructed them to be fully prepared to face any eventuality.

He stressed the need to have a micro level planning for the vulnerable villages of the bordering districts. An inventory should be created which would identify the human resources, material and equipment available in the villages. A village level team should be created and all the Stake holders should be involved. Special officer should be appointed in each mandal.

Similarly a district level steering committee should be constituted. He told the collectors to work proactively in close coordination with neighbouring districts and ensure preparedness to deal with the locust

attack by keeping stock of spraying material, safety kits, lighting arrangements and other paraphernalia. He directed the agricultural department to prepare an advisory consisting of standard operating procedures to be followed by the districts. Scientists made a presentation on movement of locust and suggested controlling measures.

 Mahender Reddy, DGP,  Shobha,  PCCF,  Janardhan Reddy,  Secretary Agriculture,  Rahul Bojja, Secretary disaster management,  Sanjay Jain,  DG Fire Services,Dr. Praveen Rao, VC PJTS Agricultural University, Rahman, Chief Entomologist, Sunita, Plant Protection Officer, CIPMC, Collectors and SPs/CPs of Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Nirmal, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Bhadradri Kothagudem Mulugu and Sangareddy districts, officers and senior officials attended the meeting.
