Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has emphasised the need to tackle economic crimes and the spread of misinformation.
“Currently, the dissemination of fake news has emerged as a significant concern. Misinformation circulating on social media is causing disorder in society. Certain individuals are intentionally propagating false information online. This issue needs to be addressed without delay,” stated Revanth Reddy.
The Chief Minister attended the Cyber Security Conclave -2025 at HICC on Tuesday, where he expressed the State government’s dedication to making Telangana the leading state in cyber safety in India.
He pointed out that official reports reveal cyber criminals stole Rs. 22,812 crores across the country last year, indicating that cyber crime is a considerable threat to both the economy and the public.
“The state government is offering the necessary support and resources to collaborate with cybersecurity experts and IT firms to establish an environment conducive to developing cybersecurity solutions.
Telangana aims to become a secure business hub, and everyone should disseminate the 1930 cyber helpline number, which operates 24/7,” stated Revanth Reddy.
The Chief Minister noted that Telangana is among a select few states to have established a fully operational Cyber Security Bureau and a dedicated helpline for cyber crimes, aimed at safeguarding citizens against online fraud and criminal activities.
Stating that the state government inaugurated seven new dedicated cyber crime police stations last year, he expressed his congratulations to DGP Dr. Jitender and the Director of the Cyber Bureau for the establishment of these facilities, and he appreciated the TG-CSB team for successfully organizing the event.
“The cyber security conference is significant and noteworthy. Crime pattern has been changing rapidly. Need to device all kinds plans to encounter the challenges facing the society. Let us all work together to make Telangana a cyber safe State,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister said Telangana is at the forefront in controlling cybercrime in the country and there is a need to strengthen the Cybercrime wing further.
“Prevention of the crime should be given top priority before the arrest of the criminals after they committed crime,” he suggested.
