CM Chandrababu holds meeting with investors at Zurich

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is in Davos to participate in the World Economic Forum summit held a series of meetings with investors on the first day of his visit on Monday.

Earlier in the day, he met India’s Ambassador to Switzerland Mridhul Kumar at the Hilton Hotel in Zurich and discussed the possibilities of investments from Switzerland to the State.

Kumar said more than 350 Swiss companies, including giants like Nestle, ABB and Novartis, had so far invested in India and more companies were ready to invest.

The Chief Minister said there was a wide range of opportunities in the manufacturing sector in Andhra Pradesh such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technical textiles and rail components.

The Chief Minister also asked Mridhul Kumar to ensure that the skilling and AI university being set up in AP work together with Switzerland universities.

He also said there were skilled youth from all walks of life in AP to provide services to Switzerland under the work-from-home system.

After the meeting, Mridhul Kumar, he met the CEOs of four leading Swiss companies and other important leaders like Raoul Keller, secretary-general of ‘Swiss Men’, a company of mechanical and electrical engineering industries limited, Marcus Tucke, CEO of ‘Orlican’ of the polymer processing sector, Erich Smid, CEO of ‘AngstFister’, a high-quality industrial components and custom engineered solutions company, and Erich Smid, ceo of ‘AngstFister’, a high-quality industrial components and custom-engineered solutions company and explained the opportunities to invest in the state. 

He invited them to come to AP to utilise the availability of skilled manpower as well as the incentives provided by the Central and State governments.

The Chief Minister urged the ‘Swiss Men’ company to come forward for training programmes such as setting up a Research and Development Centre for the development of industries in the State and for providing facilities for manufacturing.

“There is a need for an advance coating centre in the State and there are opportunities in the automotive, aerospace, energy and tooling sectors and an AM centre can be set up for research,” he said.

Chandrababu suggested that these can be used by ‘Orlican’. The CM invited ‘Swiss Textiles’ to come for contract manufacturing, research and development and skill development programme in the textile sector in AP.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharath and a delegation of officials were accorded a warm welcome at the Zurich airport on Monday to attend the World Economic Forum summit in Davos.

Members of the European TDP Forum and non-resident Andhras came out in large numbers and expressed their happiness over the Chief Minister’s visit to Zurich. The Chief Minister interacted with them for a while and cheered them up.
