A Delhi court today extended the judicial custody of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media corruption case till 17th of October. Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar sent the Congress leader to judicial custody till 17th of October after the Central Bureau of Investigation sought extension of his judicial remand.
He was arrested by the CBI on 21st of August from his New Delhi residence. The CBI had registered an FIR on 15th of May 2017, alleging irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance granted to the INX Media group for receiving overseas funds of 305 crore rupees in 2007 during Chidambaram’s tenure as the Finance Minister.
