Cherlapally terminal inaugurated, PM says it will propel growth

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has called upon the Union government to provide its full support for the advancement of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project.

The Cherlapally Railway Terminal was inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also participating in the event online.

During his remarks, Revanth Reddy expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of Telangana for the completion of the railway terminal.

He reminded the Prime Minister that the State government has previously submitted proposals to the Centre for the development of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project and requested his assistance in facilitating its completion.

Additionally, he noted that the State government has already formulated plans for a 370 km Regional Ring Road (RRR) in Telangana and urged the Union government to fully cooperate in the construction of both the RRR and the Regional Ring Rail.

The Chief Minister also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide assistance for the construction of new railway lines connecting Vikarabad to Krishna, Kalwakurthi to Macherla, and an additional two lines from Dornakal.

Revanth Reddy expressed that the state government is committed to transforming Telangana into a one trillion dollar GDP economy, which would, in turn, contribute to the larger objective of achieving a five trillion dollar economy for India.

He emphasised that the Union government should collaborate on the development of a greenfield highway and a direct railway network linking Hyderabad with Bandar Port.

In addition to this, the Chief Minister noted that the advancement of the railway system is crucial for the nation’s progress, as the development of states like Telangana is closely tied to railway infrastructure improvements.
