Hansika Motwani is embroiled in a controversy for smoking a chillum in one of the posters of her upcoming film Maha, which is helmed by debutant director UR Jameel. In fact, a case was slapped on the actress and director by Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) member Janakiraman.
Three days after the case was filed, director UR Jameel has reacted to the controversy surrounding the poster. Janakiraman claimed that the poster has hurt the sentiments of religious people. He took to Twitter to explain his stance about the whole issue.
He said, “As a director of the film (Maha), my intention was just to create something unique and not to knowingly hurt anybody’s sentiments related to caste or religion. I believe in humanity and not in Hindu-Muslim issue. So, please do not bring in caste or religion angle.”
