Amid attacks and counter-attacks, the tussle between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena, the alliance partners in state is still on, with solution nowhere early to reach. The senior BJP leader and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has categorically denied yesterday that the Shiv Sena was ever assured the post of the CM for two and half years as part of the power sharing formula.
Two senior ministers and party leaders Sudhir Mungantiwar and Chandrakant Patil have come out in support of Fadnavis, maintaining that no promise was made and that the BJP chief Amit Shah and his Sena counterpart Uddhav Thackeray will finalise the contours of the “50:50” formula. After Fadnavis’ statement, the Shiv Sena has reportedly cancelled today’s meeting with the BJP.
