BC candidate from Congress to become CM of Telangana in future: TPCC chief

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud made significant remarks, asserting that a backward class (BC) candidate from the Congress party will eventually serve as the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Despite this, he emphasised that Revanth Reddy will hold the position of Chief Minister for the current five-year term.

During a media briefing at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Mahesh Goud questioned the appropriateness of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s comments disparaging Muslims.

He challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to advocate for the inclusion of the BC Bill in the 9th Schedule. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President expressed anger over the attempts by the BJP and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to stir controversy regarding the caste census in Telangana.

He stated that once the re-survey is finalised, a bill for 42 percent BC reservations will be introduced and passed during a special Assembly session scheduled for March.

The TPCC chief challenged various BJP leaders, including Bandi Sanjay, to persuade Prime Minister Narendra Modi to place the BC reservation bill in the 9th Schedule if they possess the audacity to do so.
