The festival of Basant Panchmi is being celebrated today with religious fervour and gaiety. It is celebrated as Saraswati Puja on Panchmi of Shukla Paksha in Magh Maas. The people wear yellow coloured -dress to mark the occasion. The devotees also worship Goddess Saraswati offering white and yellow flowers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the nation on the occasion of Basant Panchami.
In his message, Mr Modi wished that Goddess Saraswati grants everyone knowledge and wisdom. President Ram Nath Kovind has extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Basant Panchami, Sri Panchami and Saraswati Puja.
In his message, the President hoped that this festive occasion, which heralds spring and celebrates learning, spurs people to expand the frontiers of education and knowledge in families, society and the country.
