Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the Congress government has been making historic strides in job creation and regional development, addressing the deep-rooted unemployment crisis that the previous BRS government neglected for over a decade.
He asserted that, within just one year of coming to power, the Congress government filled 55,000 government posts, including 11,000 teaching positions, while also ensuring long-pending promotions for teachers.
The Minister spoke at a massive public gathering on Monday during the nomination event of Congress candidate Narender Reddy from the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak Graduate constituency in Karimnagar.
Uttam Kumar Reddy lambasted the BRS government for failing to provide employment opportunities despite ruling for ten years. He accused the previous KCR regime of ignoring the youth’s aspirations, leaving thousands of vacancies unfilled, and depriving educated job seekers of opportunities.
“In just one year, the Congress government has shown what true governance looks like. Unlike the previous administration, which pushed the youth into uncertainty, we launched a structured employment drive. We are not stopping at 55,000 jobs—our government has a clear roadmap to fill two lakh more vacancies in various departments, ensuring that every deserving candidate gets a fair chance,” Uttam Kumar Reddy declared.
Reaffirming the Congress government’s commitment to balanced regional growth, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that North Telangana, particularly districts like Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Medak, had suffered severe neglect under the BRS regime. Irrigation projects meant to boost agriculture were stalled, funds were misused, and infrastructure growth remained sluggish, affecting both farmers and industrial progress in the region.
“The Congress government prepared a comprehensive roadmap to complete all pending irrigation projects in North Telangana, ensuring that every acre of farmland gets adequate water. Unlike the previous administration, which only made empty promises, we are delivering on the ground,” he stated.
Uttam Kumar Reddy further said that the Congress government was focusing on agriculture and laying a strong foundation for industrial and infrastructural growth. He highlighted that new policies were being formulated to encourage investment, generate employment, and improve connectivity in North Telangana, ensuring that the region became a hub of economic activity.
He urged party workers and voters to ensure Narendra Reddy’s victory in the graduate constituency elections, emphasizing that Congress was the only party that truly understood and delivered on the aspirations of Telangana’s people.
