The incident of attack on the chief priest of Chilukur Balaji temple Rangarajan, who is famous in the two Telugu speaking States has created a stir. Soundararajan, who is the founder of the Protection Movement and the father of Ranga Rajan has strongly condemned the indiscriminate attack on his son.
In a press release, Soundararajan requested the Police department to take appropriate action in the incident in which some unidentified persons barged into the house of the victim near the temple and attacked and injured Rangarajan.
He said he had lodged a complaint with the police over the incident that took place two days ago. He said he was performing the duties of the temple now.
He alleged that those, who attacked Rangarajan belonged to an organisation called Rama Rajyam and added that they threatened Rangarajan to entrust the responsibility of the temple to them after joining their organisation.
However, the police, who have registered a case and launched investigation, have kept the matter confidential for two days. The police are in the process of cracking the case on the basis of CCTV footage. The main accused in the case Veera Raghava Reddy has been arrested.
Meanwhile, Hindu organisations have strongly condemned the attack on Rangarajan. They demanded strict action against those who attacked Rangarajan.
