The unique 2.81 Km long steel flyover is the first of its kind in the city of Hyderabad. Around 12,500 MT of special alloy steel and up to 20,000 Cum of concrete has gone into the making of flyover. The flyover stands over 81 steel Piers of which are of 46 Pile foundations and remaining open excavated foundations. Altogether 426 steel girders are supporting a 4 Lane deck slab of 16.60m wide. At RTC X roads junction, the flyover is crossing above the Metro Line-II at a height of 26.54m. The flyover is built at a cost of Rs. 450 Cr. by GHMC under the flagship program of Govt. Telangana, Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP).
The flyover facilitates conflict free traffic movement from Indira Park to Vidyanagar Jn. avoiding at least 4 junctions viz., NTR Stadium Jn., Ashoknagar Jn., RTC X Roads Jn., and Baghlingampally Jn. thereby conflict in the at grade traffic moving below the flyover is eased to a large extent.
At present Load testing of the flyover is under progress and flyover will be opened to traffic in around (10) days time and after the load test is completed.
