Out of nine persons reportedly died in Srisailam left bank canal fire accident took place in power plant in Telangana jurisdiction, six dead bodies were recovered on Friday by 4 pm even as rescue operations are on by NDRF, CISF and local officials.
Nine personal reportedly died as they got suffocated to smoke in the fire accident, according to information. The personal who could not come out of thick smoke as they could not find exit have lost their lives while eight others came out safely earlier.
According to information the fire mishap took place late last night in the power production plant. Immediately power related works have been stalled by the authorities.
Telangana power minister G Jagadish Reddy said that the incident was first of its kind. We have never seen such an incident earlier, he said.
If necessary experts from Singareni will be pressed to conduct rescue operations he said. The minister expressed shock at the fire incident and said to take preventive measures in the power plant.
The government will help the kin of the victims he said. The fire incident took place in the panel board suddenly and spread around. Of 30 personal 15 came out safely through a tunnel while six were rescued.
The bodies found were of AEs Sundar, Mohan Kumar and Uzma Fathima all Assistant Engineers of TSGENCO, while bodies of the remaining three, are yet to be identified. Sundar boday was gound on the third floor of the five floor hydel power generation plant. Two Telugu state governments expressed shock at the incident and offered necessary help.
