President Ramnath Kovind will embark on a three-nation tour starting Monday. Gitesh Sarma, Secretary west in the Ministry of External Affairs informed media persons in New Delhi that the President will visit Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia from September 9 to 17th. He said the visit will enhance mutual understanding in the field of climate change, green technology, geothermal energy, Culture, Tourism and agriculture.
In Iceland and Switzerland, the President will address youth in their respective universities. In Switzerland, he will unveil a bust of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Bapu. This is the first-ever visit of Indian President to Slovenia that became Independent in 1991. The business delegation accompanying the President will engage with their counterparts during the tour.
