The Supreme Court today reserved its order on a batch of petitions seeking review of the verdict allowing the entry of women of all age groups into the Sabarimala shrine in Kerala. A five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi heard submissions on behalf of parties including the Kerala government, Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), Nair Service Society (NSS) and others and said that it would pronounce its order as to whether to review the judgement or not.
The counsel for the Kerala government told the constitution bench that no ground was made out in any of the petitions seeking review of its September 28, 2018 verdict. Travancore Dewasom Board, which runs the Sabarimala temple, supports the Supreme Court verdict allowing all women inside the shrine.
