Apple gave its chief executive officer Tim Cook the biggest salary hike in the year 2018. Cook collected a bonus of $12 million (Rs.84 crore) along with his $3 million salary and perks worth $682,000, all totaling to $15.7 million, for the financial year which ended on September 29, 2018, a filing to the US Securities and exchange council revealed.
Cook had received a bonus of $9.3 million in the year 2017, which was the highest ever amount he had received until 2018. Besides getting a 22 per cent salary hike, Cook also got Apple shares worth $121 million, which are a part of his 10-year stock award plan. His bonus coupled with his stock award brought his to overall haul to whopping $136 million.
