Actress Rashmika Mandanna has caught the attention of people on social media with stunning photograph in which a woman is under water, her eyes closed, sunlight streaming in. But all around her are plastic bags, floating around in the water body.
The photo is part of a photo shoot to raise awareness about pollution in water bodies, especially the frothing, foaming and on fire Bellandur lake in Bengaluru. The photographs featuring Rashmika were released by the actor that went viral on social media.
“It was the first time I had gone to that part of the city,” Rashmika says about her visit to Bellandur, “It’s high time we start talking about pollution and working on this issue,” she said, “We wanted to do the underwater shoot to showcase how grave the situation is and how bad things are going to be if we don’t change.”
In February last year, huge flames were seen leaping off Bellandur lake, covering the region in thick smoke.
Well wasn’t aware of this till we had to actually go and shoot this in Bellandur lake..which like really broke my heart,and imagine few years down the line..it’s the same case everywhere else..😱 I’d rather not want to be in that space.. I just wanted to share 🤷
