Uttar Pradesh police have decided to reward the ‘bravery’ of the sub-inspector Manoj Kumar who scared criminals shouting “thain thain” during an encounter. The video of the policeman went viral on social media, that showed Sambhal’s sub-inspector Manoj Kumar mimicking the gunshot sound after his gun jammed during the encounter. It went viral after netizens started mocking it.
The UP police, however, has sent Kumar’s name for a commendation disc and certificate from the director general of police. The video was shot by one of the fellow constables during the combing operation. Sambhal SP, Yamuna Prasad said, “SI Manoj Kumar was hailed as a hero. In a police engagement, the SI didn’t quit after his pistol choked. He started shouting encouraging words for his colleagues.”
