Kripanath Mallah, the Deputy Speaker of the Assam assembly, fell from an elephant on Sunday during a welcome procession in Ratabari, his own constituency. The newly-elected deputy speaker was being welcomed by his supporters in Ratabari in Assam’s Karimganj district when the incident happened. In the video, supporters can be seen welcoming the BJP MLA as he rides an elephant.
When the elephant Kiripanath was riding on became unruly, the mahout and the Kiripanath Mallah both lost balance. The BJP MLA had an embarrassing fall on the side of the road covered in grass. Fortunately, he was unhurt and his supporters came to his rescue.
