After keeping fans waiting for the longest time, the much-anticipated Thugs of Hindostan trailer is released by the film’s team on Yash Chopra’s 86th birth anniversary today. The magnum opus is here to take you back in time. A time when the East India Company had almost taken over all of India, but for a few thugs who shunned the idea of slavery and thus began a war for ‘azaadi.’
The three-minute trailer takes you into the world of the thugs where you are deceived every time you begin trusting. A time when thugs took on the Indian waters; a time when freedom was the most expensive thing. Apart from the intriguing plotline, the mind-boggling special effects and awe-inspiring stunts, it is the duel between Aamir and Big B that seems the biggest highlight of the trailer.
The opening scenes of the trailer drop us into the epicentre of the storyline – the Thugs are gearing up to fight the East India Company. Soon, Amitabh Bachchan makes a grand entry with lots of action and dialogues delivered in his signature baritone. He plays Khudabaksh – Thug commander of the sea. The biggest surprise is towards the end of the trailer when the warring thugs confront each other and end the trailer on a cliffhanging note with the sound of clashing swords.
