Study finds 93% bottled water brands contaminated globally

A new study has disclosed that at least 93% of the bottled water from world’s leading brands, including from India, contained tiny pieces of plastic.

The study by US-based non-profit Orb Media found an average of 325 microplastic particles for every litre of water being sold.

The most common type of plastic fragment was polypropylene, which is used to make bottle caps.
