Counter militant operation in Shopian area in South Kashmir ended with the killing of three local Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists. An army jawan was also injured in the initial phase of a gunfight. Lateef Ahmad Dar Lateef Tiger, who was the only surviving militant of Burhan Group-11, was killed along with two of his associates in Adkhara Village of Imam Sahib in Shopian district. Security officials described Lateef Tiger’s killing as a big success. The encounter started after a joint team of Army, CRPF and J&K Police launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area in wee hours on Friday.
