1983 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh Cadre Rishi Kumar Shukla will be the new Director of Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI. He will serve in the post for a period of two years. The High-Level Committee chaired by Prime Minister approved the appointment of Mr Shukla to the post.
The Supreme Court had earlier told the government that it was “averse” to the arrangement of an interim CBI director and the Centre should “immediately” appoint a regular chief of the probe agency. Rishi Kumar Shukla has served as the DGP of Madhya Pradesh.
