Twelve people were killed after consuming spurious liquor in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh today. 12 people of Raniganj village under Ramnagar police station have been killed after consuming liquor from a licensed shop in the district. Official sources, however, put the death toll at six.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken serious note of the incident and directed senior officials to take stern action against the guilty. The chief minister has also asked the principal secretary, excise, to conduct an inquiry and take action against all those responsible for it.
