The Bill to provide 10 per cent quota in government jobs and education for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) among the general category was tabled in the Lok Sabha today. The Constitution 124th Amendment Bill was introduced by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot.
The bill facilitates reservation for EWS people in the upper caste in the direct recruitments and admission in higher educational institutions. The Union Cabinet had approved the bill yesterday.
