usaid mission director holds review meeting on forest plus 2.0 program

It.is a well-known fact that a program called Forest-PLUS 2.0 program is being implementing in Telangana State in Medak district landscape for managing the forests based on the ecosystem approach and enhancing the livelihoods of the forest dependent communities. The USAID’s Mission Director Ms. Veena Reddy has visited the Telangana State and had a meeting with the senior officials of the Forest Department and reviewed the activities of the Forest-PLUS 2.0       program. During the program  Lokesh Jayaswal, who is  the  PCCF and CEO CAMPA and State Nodal Officer, Forest-PLUS 2.0 of  Telangana made a detailed presentation on activities and updates which are being implemented since 2019 by the department. He said thag.the   tools, technologies and methodologies developed and utilized in Medak would be replicated in other states also.  

Ms. Veena Reddy appreciated the activities of Forest-PLUS 2.0 and especially the department role in implementation of various activities towards the  forest management. Ms. Sobha, the PCCF (HOFF) requested the USAID team to organise exposure visit to the Forest field Officers of the US Forest department to learn and understand the latest techniques, tools for management and study best models of Forest management. Mr. Jayaswal requested the Mission director of the USAID to support the forest rejuvenation plan being implemented in the state with establishment of a Central Command Centre for monitoring the ecological parameters as required to meet global commitments.
