Focus on Alternate Crops: Ktr Says Centre Agreed To Buy Boiled Rice from Ts

Municipal minister kt rama rao today said that the farmers should take up alternative crops and commercial crops instead of paddy. The centre has agreed to buy boiled rice from telangana, he said adding that the farmers should take up alternative crops.

The minister held a review meeting with the officials on yasangi season crops in his rajanna siricilla district.

The minister said that with intervention by chief minister k chandrasekhar rao the centre agreed to buy more boiled rice from our state.kcr spoke to prime minister narendra modi and piyush goel on the issue which came to a logical end now. The centre that boiled rice stocks are enough for another five years and said initially not to buy more from our state. However, when kcr appealed, the pm and goel agreed, he said.

Keeping growing market demand we have to encourage our farmers to take up the crops that will fetch them more benefits, ktr said.

He asked the officials and rythu vedika to coordinate to motivate the farmers to take up alternative crops. With more agriculture production the state has made a significant growth and we need to focus on alternate crops, he said. The crops in the yasangi season should be other than paddy and ensure commercial ones and those in more demand in the open market, he said. The minister said that more rains, projects and water bodies are full to push farm production further.
