The Endowments Department of the State have launched an inquiry into the Rs.1.42 crore darshanam ticket scam that took place at the famous Srisailam temple. The department has primarily come to the conclusion that the outsourcing staff of the department were responsible for the massive scam.

The EO of the temple KS Rama Rao revealed the details about the scam. He said that they had found that money which was earned through the sale of Rs.150 Darshanam tickets and Abhishekam tickets was siphoned off by the staff. He said that he had issued orders to assistant EO of the temple Haridasu to launch an inquiry into the issue. Meanwhile the one town police have booked a case in the issue following a complaint by the authorities of the temple.

He said that they had booked a case against 14 people in relation to the Rs76 lakh scam and another case against 6 people in relation to Rs.66 lakh scam under the IT Act and IPC. Meanwhile the Kurnool SP Fakeerappa has appointed Atmakoor DSP Venkat Rao as a special officer to investigate the case.
