Congress leaders hold Zoom meeting on Nagarjuna Sagar elections

TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy today released letter written by party president Sonia Gandhi to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of corona virus.

The Congress party leaders today held a Zoom Video Conference on the upcoming by-elections for Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency.

AICC state incharge Manickam Tagore, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the party candidate K. Jana Reddy, MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy ,TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar and Kusuma Kumar and AICC Secretary SA Sampath Kumar took part in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Tagore asked the party leaders to not view the upcoming elections as mere by-elections. He said that all leaders and workers of the party should work hard and ensure the victory of the party candidate. He made it clever that the by-elections were very important to the party and added that all the leaders and workers should work from booth level. He also said that the leaders should work hard to ensure the defeat of rivals TRS and BJP. He alleged that both TRS and the BJP were friends internally and foes externally and added that the congress party leaders and workers should expose the secret friendship of the two parties before the people of the state. Stating that only 10 days have remained for the election campaign , he asked the party leaders and workers to utilise the opportunity and ensure the victory of the party. He made it clear that the party has a strong candidate in the form of Jana Reddy  and added that his victory was just a matter of fact while stating that the party leaders should work hard to ensure a good majority to the party  candidate.

TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the victory of Jana Reddy had already been confirmed beyond doubt and added that the competition was between the TRS and the congress party. He alleged that the BJP had fielded a weak candidate as part of its secret with the TRS party. Referring to the representations given by the BJP MP Soyam Babu Rao for the removal of lambadas from the ST category, he demanded an explanation from the TRS and the BJP leaders on the issue.

He said that The congress party had included the lambadas in the ST category when it was in power and added that the decision of the party had helped lakhs of the students of the lambada community to settle down in their lives. He asked the party leaders to identify the booth level community wise votes and focus on securing those votes.

 CLP leader Vikramarka said that all workers of the party should take part in the election campaign by thinking that they were contesting from the seat. He said that he would tour all the villages of the constituency and work hard for the victory of the party candidate.
