TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, accompanied by his family members, today visited the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad and offered prayers. He presented silk saris and bonam to the presiding deity.
On entering the temple, the temple priests and temple officials warmly welcomed him with ‘Poornakumbham’. Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MPs Santhosh Kumar , Malla Reddy, TPCC President Uttam Kumar TReddy and others were present.
Earlier in the morning, Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud, Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary, MLA Srinivas Goud and others worshipped the deity and obtained Her blessings. While thousands of devotees in serpentine queues eagerly waited for a darshan of Goddess Mahakali, the city police tightened security in connection with the visit of the Chief Minister.
